Joanna Sheen DT call

Hi all,
Back in August a DT call was made for the Joanna Sheen challenge blog.
I decided to enter and was delighted to be picked as one of the top twelve :)
Today our makes will be put on show and the followers will help to choose the top three.
I made a card with a recessed window. I have never made one of these before but thought I should do something outside my comfort zone. I decoupaged the garden picture and popped it in the recess and decorated the front with flowers from Wild orchid crafts. They are Gardenias, Carnations, Roses, Cherry blossom, Gypsophila and pearl stems.

close up of flowers.

The flourish is from Marianne designs and the little butterfly from my stash. The sentiment is Lili of the valley, the leaves are a MS punch.

Here you can see the layers of decoupage which I had printed onto Crafter's companion paper. You can just see that I added twine around the trowel as well.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look and maybe you can pop over to Joanna Sheen to take a look at the other creations. If you like my card don't forget to leave a comment over there and maybe I will chosen in the top three,
Lou x

Rock Chix

Hi,
It's been a very wet and miserable day today here in Staffordshire, probably where you are too.
I have managed to complete my Joanna Sheen DT call card. I can't share it yet but I was delighted to be shortlisted to the top 12. I have my fingers crossed to be chosen.

My card today is for a young girl who plays the drums. The digi was very kindly given to me by Sandra Dry who sadly no longer has a digi shop but you can look at her old posts Here.

She is coloured using Pro markers, I used metallic pen for the Cymbals, the drums are covered in glossy accents and there are silvery pearls on the corners. The sentiment is from my stash and the papers are Papermania. I decorated the inside and the box to match but the pics were blurry so can't post them :(
Thanks for looking today,
Lou x

No time to myself

Hi Guys,

At the minute I seem to be pulled in all directions apart from towards my crafting.
You never know when your last chance for gardening is so I have been cutting the lawn and doing the weeding. The sun has been out and I am very grateful as my washing machine broke on Thursday so I have been hand washing as well as taking a trip to the local launderette.
Needless to say I haven't made a card in a few days but tomorrow shall be crafting heaven. All my main chores are done and apart from a quick tidy up and Sunday dinner all's I am doing is catching up with all my "cards to do" list :)
This little beauty is Madison Attitude from Kenny K. I love her. She will be finished tomorrow so I will share more then.
Night Night,

More Pink

Hey guys,

So the lovely ladies over at In the pink have set a new challenge of anything but a square.
Now most of my cards are square so this was a little difficult for me  but I had recently made a card for a friends niece so I thought I would use this as my entry.

It is made using Hunkydory cardstock and toppers. Mirri card and some lovely baby pink ribbon. The sentiment is Kanban and the gems are from my stash.

I decorated the inside to coordinate and also did a matching box.

Bye for now,

A boy thing

Hi all,

The challenge this week over at A gem of a challenge is "A boy thing"

I made this card for a new baby boy using a Digi from Pink gem.

The papers are First edition Up and away and the embellishments were from Dunelm. It is quite suprising what little crafty bits and bobs they have there.

I decorated the inside to match.
Thanks for popping by,

Pretty in Pink

Hey Guys,

Today's card an easel card for using a digi stamp from Pink petticoat.
It has a LOT of pink. It wasn't my intention but the brief was handbags and shoes and this is what materialised when I was in the zone.(lol)

The papers were free with a card magazine. As were the chipboard pieces. The sentiment is printed
on to pearl card and cut with Spellbinders (blossom accents and tags ) die.
There is quite a lot of glitter, bling and glossy accents.
Have a great Saturday!!

Cheers Dad!

Hiya,
I was asked at the last minute to do a card for a very special dad who like most men
enjoys a  pint, a spot of gardening and cups of tea. I chose to use the "Pint" as inspiration after seeing this Digi at the digi stamp boutique. Alf is just full of character ..

I computer generated the sentiments and highlighted the shoes and beer froth with glossy accents.
I used frosted lace stickles just for a touch of frosting on the glass.
Papers, ribbon and gems were from stash. He is coloured with Pro markers.
I decorated the box and the inside to match.
Hope you like Alf as much as me :))

There is a change in the air

Hey Everyone,
Although today has been pretty warm, the mornings are definitely getting
chillier and the nights are drawing in. It's quite scary to think that September
is already here.

My card today though is quite bright and summery with lots of red...

The papers are from Raspberry road "summer goodness", I computer generated the greeting,
Martha Stewart branch punch, Cuttlebug flowers embossing folder, flowers from stash and so are the gems.
The image is actually a re-sized kids colouring page :)
I highlighted her gloves with frosted lace stickles and her shoes with glossy accents.

Challenges I would like to enter -
Sketch Saturday - #223 Jen's sketch

See you very soon,
Love

Flowers, ribbon and gems are from stash.

I am off to tackle a mountain of ironing now. I may be gone some time..
